| Is this for my skin type? |
If you have dark spots, uneven skin tone, hyperpigmentation, melasma, sun damage or just want to brighten the appearance of you skin than you should consider the Skin Lighten RX range. Originally
formulated for use by dermatologists and plastic surgeons. We are
pleased to now offer it to you for salon and home use.
The Skin Lighten RX product range is formulated to take a holistic approach to skin lightening and pigment correction and is ideal for lightening the skin and correcting pigmentation problems caused by sun damage, oral contraceptives, freckles and age spots.
How Does It Work? Rather than try and bleach the dark to turn it white research has shown a better and more effective approach is to turn-over the damaged skin and treat the newly formed cells to prevent the darkening of the skin. The process of skin darkening is actually a chain reaction of events where enzymes activate the melanin process and darken the skin cells. Studies have proven that certain ingredients act to prevent this chain reaction and thereby prevent newly formed skin from discoloring - the scientific term often used is Tyrosinase inhibition. Ingredients used in the Skin Lighten RX range, such as Kojic Acid, Lactic Acid, Alpha Arbutin, Vitamin C, Bearberry Extract, Licorice Extract, Green Tea Extract etc. have all been selected for their proven ability to prevent the darkening process from occurring.
What is wrong with Hydroquinone? Hydroquinone is a treatment that does not focus on prevention - rather it tries to turn dark skin white. Hydroquinone
has long been prescribed by dermatologists because of its ability to
bleach the skin. However, it can be difficult to control in effective
concentrations, is very expensive because at 4%+ it is a prescription
and health concerns are starting to surface when used for long term
care.

How
does Alpha Arbutin and Kojic acid compare to Hydroquinone?
|
|
The
above table shows Alpha Arbutin and Kojic Acid were tested against
Hydroquinone and Beta Arbutin and quite clearly the ingredients used in
the Skin Lighten RX products are superior than just using the bleaching
agent Hydroquinone.

Natural Lightening Ingredients
|
-
natural plant extracts like Alpha Arbutin, Bearberry, Kojic Acid and
Licorice because of their powerful skin lightening properties that help
to correct uneven skin color and pigmentation.
-
natural pigment correction ingredients that are extremely effective,
and work by inhibiting the process of skin darkening and reducing
existing pigmentation. -
natural skin lighteners are safer to use than chemical skin lighteners
like Hydroquinone, because unlike Hydroquinone, these natural skin
lighteners do not lead to rebound hyperpigmnetation (skin darkening)
with prolonged use. |
